Great day on the Maybrook. The parking lot at Overocker road is small. It is excellent how the trail links up with the walkway-over-the Hudson (which was simply an abandoned hulk when I lived there!) Picking a favorite section is a really hard call, they both have their pluses. The pond is crystal clear and has a wonderful tree line right on the water. There is a section where you ride over a large pond on a bridge that is nice. Not ready for biking at this location YET, but it will be fun to watch things progress from here, and eventually connect up to the Putnam Trailway (http://www.traillink.com/trail/putnam-trailway.aspx). Other than that this was a really nice trail and I would bike it with caution, or a mountain bike. On the way back we took the River trail. It goes parallel to the river and it is very pretty. We started from the southern endpoint in Hopewell Junction and rode the trail to Poughkeepsie where we rode over the Walkway Over The Hudson on onto the Hudson Valley Rail Trail to New Paltz. There is only road side parking on a soft shoulder, both sides of the road.
